SPADA was established in mid 2011, by two friends Armita Hutagalung and Nita Wibowo. These two friends coincidentally both have the same ambition, which was to learn their trade in the fashion industry and establishing their own distinct brand. Nita and Mita knew that Indonesian fashion brands is not internationally recognized. By focusing their fashion brand by creating local custom made accessories, their common goal is to bring an Indonesian fashion brand to the international stage, and proving that SPADA can compete with other international brands. In addition, both friends want Indonesians to feel proud of their own local brand, and break their mindset that foreign brands are always better then local brands. SPADA promises to deliver their customer quality products at an affordable price, and above all a much more confident and stylish appeal.
Our brand name is humorously inspired from Armita’s own grandmother, who always says “SPADAAA” when greeting someone. SPADA which literally means “hello” or “welcome”, illustrates the courteous approach towards someone. The brand according to mita and nita, possesses its own individual meaning and essence, which is friendship. The brand name itself moreover, is easily retained by people, due to its catchy and simple name, SPADA. :)
